Venezuela is a collapsed state. The US State Department travel advisory is Level 4: Do Not Travel (renewed December 2025) — the most severe warning, citing wrongful detention, torture, kidnapping, terrorism, and arbitrary law enforcement. More US nationals are wrongfully detained in Venezuela than in any other country. There is no US embassy in Venezuela.

Venezuela is NOT a transit corridor for Bangladeshi nationals. The country's collapse makes it actively avoided even by smuggling networks that operate in the rest of the continent.

Venezuela's economy has disintegrated. More than 6 million Venezuelans have fled the country — one of the largest displacement crises in modern history. GDP per capita is approximately $3,700 (2024) — comparable to Bangladesh's level — but this figure understates the collapse because Venezuela was once one of the wealthiest countries in South America. The Venezuelan Bolívar (VES) has undergone repeated redenominations due to hyperinflation; its value is effectively meaningless.

Venezuela's diplomatic apparatus barely functions. Obtaining a visa is functionally impossible through normal channels.

Venezuela has a population of approximately 28 million. Venezuela's TIP status is Tier 3 (2025) — the worst possible ranking.
